Shay Mitchell is Canadian actress,model and businesswoman. Her best-known role is as Emily Fields on the Freeform show Pretty Little Liars. After her success in dance, modeling and acting, she took acting classes. Mitchell was able to land a couple of commercials and guest roles in a television show. Her big break occurred when she was chosen as Emily Fields. The critics and the fans alike praised her for her talent. Her next step was to create a name for herself on the screen, with films like the DreamlandMother's Dayand The Possession of Hannah Grace. She gained wider recognition for her part in the psychological drama series You. In addition to performing, she also dabbled in writing. And her father is Irish and Scottish. Mitchell is also a cousin of Lea Salonga, a famed musical theater actress and singer. Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary for her early days before moving on to West Vancouver Secondary. Mitchell was already modeling around the world by the time she reached her teens. She travelled across the world to Barcelona Bangkok Hong Kong before getting back to Toronto and pursuing her studies in acting in Toronto.
